(1) This scale is excellent for my veterinary practice. It’s very hard to find one that measures in lbs:oz, grams, and lbs with decimals. The last one is what we like the most since we use fractions of a pound all the time. This is actually the second one I’ve bought for two different practices, and I am very pleased. The first one has been used several times daily for over a year with no problems. It gets moved a lot, and we use both the AC adapter and batteries.
(2) I bought this product to weigh our infant since we are breastfeeding, but also for other general weight measurements. At first I didn’t find the included AC adapter in the box and rigged my own AC adapter up. Needless to say the scale produced erroneous results. After finding the included AC adapter and using it, the scale was substantially more accurate (the myweight.com website talks about this AC adapter issue in detail). I then compared this scale’s output with the output of three other calibrated scales (UPS store, and two local food lion produce scales). All the measurements were within 4 grams of each other using a 3.9008 kg (8.6 lb) weight (i.e. similar to our babies weight). The packaging was a bit odd (it was wrapped in newspaper), and this is definitely a “made in china” product, but it works. Also, “My Weigh” seems to be a reputable company, and definitely stands by their product (check out their website at www.myweigh.com for more info)
