(1) I just received this fireplace screen and it is awesome! It’s much more beautiful than the picture. It matches my furniture perfectly. It is solidly built and it will last for years. It’s probably 20-25 pounds at least. The f/p screens you buy at the store are really flimsy compared to this one. I was suppose to receive it by April 20th and I actually got it by April 3rd! It came wrapped in bubble wrap with fragile on the box.
(2) I, as others, paid close attention to the reviews. The screen arrived very quickly. It is made of high quality metal and very heavy. A great product for the price. I have searched for fireplace screens in many stores and online. Any that were of the quality of this screen cost a lot more and did not seem to be quite as well made. The detail of the metal is absolutely beautiful.
(3) I paid attention to the other glowing reviews and am glad I did. This is about the favorite thing I have ever bought from Amazon. My fireplace came with a little mesh screen built in that kept the sparks from flying, but there was no protection from a log actually rolling out unto the carpet, and nothing to cover up a dirty fireplace. I have looked for a nice screen for several years, but most are at least 4 times the price, and many are just too small for my fireplace. My husband loves it too, he noticed it amidst all the Christmas clutter, the minute he walked in the door from work.
(4) I wanted to get the Southern Living fire screen but it is so expensive, even used on ebay. So I went searching for other ones online and in stores. They are typically expensive and ugly. I really just needed something sturdy and not to busy to keep my 18 month old out of the fireplace. I decided based on the pics and the ratings and the PRICE, to give this one a try. I love it! It is sturdy and looks even better in the home. Goes well with my other southern living and looks a lot like their expensive one! And my 18 month old stays out of the fireplace! Also shipping was extremely fast.
