(1) I can’t believe I was going to pay over $100 for a freaking garbage can on Amazon. Although, I did pay $83.99 at Linens-n-Things Going Out of Business Sale. This is a fabulous can. I was going to buy the butterfly top can at the Container Store but this is much better. The kids would probably get their fingers caught in the butterfly top. This top is easy for 4 yr olds. The BEST PART is that none of the moving parts touch the wall. Our other can left terrible marks on the wall where the top touched and the back handle hit every time you stepped on the pedal. This one sits perfectly still and the top opens smoothly with a wide opening. As for the finger prints…who cares it’s a garbage can. The crazy thing - L-n-T had a compact refrigerator for the same price as I paid for this non-electrical, non-battery operated Garbage Can.
(2) i don’t think any garbage can should cost as much as this & feel all the stainless ones are overpriced but this can is fabulous! it’s a great fit for almost anywhere, larger capacity, bags don’t slip down inside like others, i found the “no fingerprints” to be 95% true unlike the other review—no need to really touch the stainless part much as the lid comes off easily with 2 side slots to lift it off when you need to change the bag & the lid flips open smoothly with only a tap to the non stainless latch which goes all the way back so food doesn’t spill on it like the ones that don’t open all the way like most of the foot pedal ones i’ve had. only need one finger to snap the lid closed. all around it’s a GREAT garbage can & i would reccomend it if you just can just take a big gulp @ the price & order it!
